Can anyone suggest a good retailer for aluminium sheet? Ideally I'm looking for 2024T3 or 7075T3 in 20swg/0.9mm thickness, with plastic coating.

Unfortunately so far I'm only getting suppliers who aren't holding this type of sheet (I think it's mostly domestic-use stuff, so non-coated and definitely not T3).

TIA

Would it be technically possible to fit the M16 head to the 205 block [successful working engine as end product of course ! ]

Cheers

I fitted new rear A92 Avon slicks three meetings ago to my OMS and I've noticed they're wearing with a depression in the middle of the tread. Common sense would suggest that they have been run at too high a pressure which would raise the crown and promote excessive wear in the middle of the tyre. I've not run them above 15psi so this would appear not to be the answer. they are also correct size for the rim I believe so tyre movement is not the answer.
Can anyone suggest any other reason for unusaual wear like this?

Thanks

Richard

Walker Dynomax Ultraflow silencer
Hardly used, imported from the USA in 2005.
2.25" pipes
Flows 711cubic feet per minute (cfm)

For every 1bhp that your engine produces, your silencer needs to flow 2.2cfm, so this silencer is suitable for engines upto 323bhp.
Sounded lovely when I ran it as a single silencer on my 2.0 Zetec, with no noise test problems either.

£50 + P&P

Not sure how to post images in this section.

My Zetec conversion GpA spec driveshafts are for sale.

One long shaft, and one short shaft, manufactured from 300M impact resistent steel, by Reco Prop in December 1998

They have 22 splines on the outer ends, not the usual 23, so these will need the earlier CV's with the corresponding 22 splines. (new 22 spline outer CV's are still available on the bay, so hardly a show stopper)

Not rusty, hardly used over the past 12 years, considering I only competed for 6 years from 2003 until 2008 with the 180bhp Zetec in the car.

£300 for the pair + £12.50 P+P

I would like to send my thanks to all the marshals, rescue crews and officials involved in my incident at Prescott on Sunday. Everyone acted with great professionalism and calmness while extracting me from the car and then returning both the car and I to the paddock. My recollection of the immediate aftermath is that my language was somewhat colourful. My apologies to anyone who heard this as my greatest concern at the time was for the condition of the Pilbeam! In my view the rescue teams could not have done anything more. It was also a great help receiving reassurance from the many familiar faces. And thanks to all the drivers who came to offer their commiserations in the paddock.

While sliding sideways towards the tyres it was entirely clear in my mind that driver error was to blame. My choice of gear shift location was a poor one in slippery conditions. The data shows that I managed to lift the throttle one third of a second after the gear shift, but this wasn’t enough to prevent the slide. On first inspection the car looks relatively simple to repair. At this late stage though it feels wise to enter the winter rebuild and be ready early for next year.

See you all soon.

Oliver
