08 Hayabusa air box replace or not?

I have an 08 hayabusa in my race car and begining my improvements to it, have read and heard many reasons and stories about why and why not to replace the standard air box with a traditional 4 throttle body style air cleaner system. My question is if it is better to replace then at what range does it improve and where does it take power or more importantly torque away from?
The maim reasons other than power for getting rid of it is over head weight (its a little heavy) and it spears the wind up and out away from the center of my rear wing, this was clear to see after a wet practice day.
Ideas/thoughts (please)

Heres a dyno run from my tuned 1340cc 08 Busa with an air box.
I cant help with what you gain or lose with or without an airbox sorry.

just from my personal expereince - I have a custom airbox on my busa in a caterham.

Looking at the data logging it seems to make no/very little difference in terms of speed/acceleration up to about 100mph butafter that performance degrades somewhat, however i haven't got the ducting sorted at all and it is just breathing under the bonnet at the minute...

not sure if that at all is relevant to your setup...

Seems all the UK Busa tunning shops are using a Pipper Cross air cleaner, this would have to be lighter and breath better, dont think it would sit any lower on engine, any one surgest where I should get one to suit a 08 busa and is there an alternative to pipper cross?

Do you think it would breath better than a K&N filter in a stock box ?
