What a cracking day and another well organised event by Longton once again............big congratulations to Craig Powers on BTDBTDBTD with a 40 second lap

Seemed to be a few early season gremlins after the winter break with a fair few engines unfortunately

Thanks Ian and thanks to all those who supported this event.

Yes I had brake gremlins today but managed to get them working in the end. Thanks very much to Brian Walker for all of his help.

Paul Masters (Jedi R1) and I had a good dice, just like we normally do.

40.99s is only just in the 40 bracket but it counts.

Craig

Ian, I think I have worked out what happened on Timed Run 1 when I exited the hill with no brakes. I have to hold my hand up and admit stupidity.

I had binding rear brakes after practice, to the extent that the car could not be pushed in the paddock (it took several people to push it). I freed up the stuck pistons by winding them out with a special tool. I did this a few times and the pistons seemed free. I reckon that I arrived off the hill with daylight between the rear pads and the discs. I had not applied the brakes to seat the pads on the discs.

Luckily a few frantic pumps of the pedal got the pads in contact but last ditch braking was so hard that I locked up and spun.

Stupid and nearly very painful and costly. A lesson learned.

How many entries did you end up with?

There were 92 entries turned up at Harewood plus 5 none starters.
