rea springs are fairly normal

i think the issue is with the rear 4 link setup

ive helped (i think)
by narrowing the front pick up points
previously the inst center was behind the car
but i dont know if this was correct or not
Rally Design do an anti dive kit for Escort , cheap as chips but does the job -

check your f.dampers/shocks are working

ps if doing tarmac only then get ride height as low as poss. it should scrape the paint off the bottom on speed bumps

I had a similar problem with my mk1 - turned out to have a bent rear axle so the rear wheels were toeing out. I staightened it and introduced very slight toe in and the car was transformed. I run similar spring rates to you and the car handles superbly with no vices, so it may be worth checking the rear track if you haven't already.
