ANWCC 2011
Hi Bob,
Will be doing the Championship this year, was going to make a weekend of Barbon/Scammonden but as Scammonden has been moved back a week will give Barbon a miss as its a bit far for one day. Should do all three Scammondens and two Lotons. Paul. |

I will be doing the ANWCC Sprint & the Hilclimb championships.
As regards the Hillclimbs, I will probably do June Barbon, 1st & last Scammondens & both Lotons. Craig Powers ZZR1100 OMS2000m |

Hi Paul, Hi Craig, I see some things don't change, just need DD to post next and we'll be right back in there!! Yeah i planned to double up Barbon and Scammy to, bit of a bummer MGCC had to move dates due to a clash with Harewood meaning they couldn't get a timekeeper. I'm going to Barbon on the thursday and having a couple of days in the lakes with the Mrs while we're there. Going to try and do ALL the rounds this year!!

I will go to Harewood instead of the May Barbon. It doesn't really matter which event I do; I can either be hopelessly outclassed at the Barbon National or I can go to Harewood and get humiliated there. I just cannot get the hang of Harewood!
I will have to miss the 2nd Scammonden because I am judging at Formula Student that July weekend. So I will do 5 rounds and hope for the best. Craig |

Still hoping to be a contender, assuming I can get it together to fill in some entry forms.

I have just cancelled Scammonden on May 22nd. I went to Harewood today and found two hairline cracks in the rear of the chassis in the vicinity of the rear wing mount. These were found during scrutineeering so we didn't run. I haven't got time to fix it before next weekend so have had to cancel.

Yes it was a bad day because Eve Whitehead was going to share the car, so a double lot of wasted entries.
I reckon that I can fix it. Tomorrow I aim to strip it down, clean off the paint and assess the damage. The rear wing has a central mounting post and the mount is welded to the middle of the rear transverse top-tube. This is unsupported and is causing flexing and fatigue. Not a good design. The design needs extra bracing. "Do not feed loads into unsupported tubes" (various authors, Staniforth, Costin & Phipps, et al). Ignore this at your peril. Craig |
