Anyone speak Gaelic?

Fintray Hillclimb will appear on BBC Alba tonight at 10pm. For Sky viewers BBC alba is 168 and Freeview Ch8

It should also appear on the BBCiPlayer after the show has been broadcast.

Whilst the show is in Gaelic, there should be subtitles.

cheers

Fin

Sasanach viewing

Being from south of the border I don't speak gaelic, however I did watch the program and was impressed on two fronts.
1. Presenter Fiona was worth tuning in for all on her own!!
2. Getting to see Steve Marr's Saxon in action at last.

The feature on the Fintray climb was all too short but still very enjoyable. The subtitles definitely helped this sasanach keep track.
I spotted one or two border raiders(Keith's Image and Fergus's OMS 2000m) among the single seaters in the paddock.

Thanks for the heads up on this FJW1

Richard

It was with some trepidation that I watched this … as it was shot on the day of my accident on 14/05/11 ... close enough to six months ago.

When the guy explained the 64ft thing, the footage was me starting my first practice. It looks like I got an absolute belter of a start off the line ... yet about 24 seconds later, my life changed a bit ... albeit some for the better.

I've purposefully not written too much about this for fear of, inadvertently, putting the sport in a bad light.

When I'm back to decent health, I'll write up my whole story for anyone who might be interested.

My plan is that this will coincide with me testing a new single seater in 2012 with a view to it being competitive in 2013. In the meantime, I hope to get hold of something like a Radical Clubsport to build my confidence.

The whole plan needs to be accepted by my wife Steph though. Neither of us has earned since May so the mortgage and stuff will become a concern before too long, although, Steph has started work now.

More later, I reckon the whole thing will have actually have had a positive change on my life so no "doom and gloom".

Take a nose in to FlatChat any time as I tend to bore people there more than anywhere else.

Cheers,

Eric

Edit ... struggling tonight but, just been reminded, some background here.

Edit #2 ... I've written a wee bit for the club mag which mentions a certain "Essex Boy" who might have got BTDBTDBTD that day ... I'll copy it in to a post here after all good GAC members have read and digested ... their turkey.

Richard, I am sure Grampian would be delighted to welcome some "Southern Border Raiders" to Fintray in 2012. I will certainly be making the trek north from London

There will be 2 double header weekends, one in May the other in August. Fintray was last part of the BHC in 1994.

I first went to Durris in 1989 and made it an annual pilgimage up to and including the 1994 final BHC event. I used to like it when the Durris event was on the Saturday (1989 through to 1992) as this made those miles seem worthwhile.

Wilko,

You need to rethink this ... the Durris / Fintray thing.

Cheers,

Eric
