Buyers beware!!!!!!!

A warning to anyone purchasing parts from Tran-x.

After being quoted £11.95 for postage "Because your in Guernsey" for a small box containing 2 diff side gears some planet gears and 4 scross pins (max 3kg)

Note:- Royal mail is £12.00 for up to 20kg!

I was actually charged £42.00!!!!!!

No phone call, no communication whatsoever to say there would be a difference they just charged my Debit card the extra.

In my opinion this is very poor indeed from a well known company.

Hi Red, no the extra was just postage. I did ask why I wasn't called and I just got a "Dunno" .

The thing that grinds with me Red is that the guy apologised when I originally ordered the parts that the postage was £11.95 "Because I was in Guernsey"
and then when I phoned to query the extra £30.00 charge he said he didn't realise I was in Guernsey even though he had my account details open in front of him when I was placing the order??

Oh how companies can change the bigger they get!!

That's ridiculous and unacceptable behaviour. Was it a quote or an estimate? What authorisation did he have to charge your card? What authorisation did the card provider have to make payment? There was clearly no contract with you to charge £40 if you were quoted £11.95. I would go higher and if this does not work I dispute the payment with the card company. Let them take on the fight for you.

Go higher, I would be knocking on someone's door, supplier and bank manager. I am fully aware that the tax man at your place has some funny ideas about what you should be paying but the supplier had no justification in sticking all that excess on.....

It gets better, for a start the parcel was only 1.7kg, original invoice clearly states £11.95 NHL next day service dated 31st Oct.

Extra seperate invoice also dated 31st Oct for £30.00 "Additional delivery charge"?

The first courier "NHL" (whose service I had paid for!) then subbed it out to another courier!!

And to top it all the date on the sub contracted couriers label was 02nd Nov!! 2 days after I placed the original order!!

Bring back the Goodyears thats what i say, unfortunately this kind of thing with expanding companies is the way of the modern world!!

I have used Tran-x stuff for 20+ years, I have been a guinea pig for them in the early 90's trying different ramp angles etc and giving my feedback as to what worked and what didn't. I have spent thousands over the years both through me and on behalf of other people and yet they only seem to look after the big boys and forget the humble beginnings and the club racers that have put them where they are.

They probably don't even know that the courier they use subs out to another!! They will tomorrow though.

Sad but true.

Good old rip off Britain! If I was in your position, I think I would send my own courier in to collect. Have a look at http://www.parcel2ship.co.uk/?affiliatenetwork=por
