Can you help?? Shelsley Walsh track and car details!!

Hi people.. Can you help??

I'm looking for some data on the Shelsley Walsh track (gradients and corner radii) and cars that have raced her with a fairly decent time.
Car details include race weight, HP, wheelbase and track!

Any info would be appreciated!

Bez

Isn't there someting on the MAC website that covers gradient etc?

Is this required for a project and if so what?

I've only seen the track diagram on the Shelsley site (http://www.shelsley-walsh.co.uk/the_track.htm). Gurston has an elevation profile (http://www.gurstondown.org/intro.htm) but I haven't seen anything similar for Shelsley.

I know Mark Joseland did a comprehesive survey of the hill some ears ago and I am sure that included gradients . Can I suggest you contact the MAC office ( address is on the shelsley website ) and ask nicely .

I am curious as to what you are going to do with the information

Hatsa

I reckon its a case of gathering data to bang into a computerised vehicle that takes away a drivers skill

Average 1:9, Steepest 1:6. Track width minimum 11.5 ft [ finishing straight], approx 19.5ft max on the S bends. I did, in rash moment, measure these a few ago, because someone had asked the same question, before the re-surfacing. Before Steve comes on - the tarmac now goes to where the cars had run onto the banks, thus the tarmac is wider but the overall width is the same. If you fancy a day out you can come and measure it again.
The Gardener often tells me that the drain cover at Top S, apparently used as a marker by some drivers, used to be at the edge of the track - it is now about a foot from the bank!!!
I, like Hasta, would be interested to know why you have the interest.
