Castle Howard Hillclimb

Morning folks.

Another question for you.

I have notes on the hillclimbs at Castle Howard from June 1959 to October 1974, but I also have a note that says:

"brought back into use by 1983 with the course reduced to 440 yards" but I have not yet been able to verify that statement.

Does anyone know when the last hillclimb took place at Castle Howard?

You need to get hold of either a 1982 or 1983 Blue Book to confirm it had a track license.

It still showed up in the 1978 Blue Book if that is any help!

I went to a couple the meetings at CH in the early 60's. As I recall [??] the finish was in front of the House and the track had a fairly loose surface.

Good idea Steve, thanks.

I've got to go up to the British Library next week to look at some Old Motors (Surprisingly held in the Main Library on Euston Road - Periodicals Collection not with the Newspapers and Magazines) and I'll have a look then. The Yearbooks are in the General Reference Collection, but the run may not be complete.
