What are you supposed to stop
Speding money on racing cars is usually the first, but given that most of us have avoided stopping that I can't think of anything else.

Douglas Andersons old Hawke FF with ZX10 power......hes been around in it north of the border for 3 or 4 years now with some fairly impressive results. Having sat in it now, I'm not sure I'm going to do as well or improve....I can barely move!!!

Bewley Jawa

Hi All.
Just joined I have been involved in hill climbing in one way or another since 1966 in jersey. I own a car that was built buy George Bewley. its sat in my garage for a number of years now, I was going to fit a Kawaski 900 in but have now decided to put it back to orignal.
The reason for this request is to ask if any one has any info and photos of this car as well as to finding the whereabouts of George Bewley.
I think the car was from the early 1980 it had a jawa engine in but I do not know what model, I have the original 3 speed gear box and diff unit. I have purchased a Jawa 897 engine to fit in the car is about 98 percent complete.
If any one can help I would be very gratefull.
Many thanks
Terry Gorvel

You may need to help us out a bit.

George Bewley built more than one car.

How many Steve?

Terry

There was a sky blue coloured Bewley with Jawa engine around the Midlands hills in the early 90's. I expect several members will know who the owner was. Bit underpowered really, but of interest as a piece of hill climb history.

If you send a PM to forum member T.E.Crump he is bound to have George's number. I saw George leaving Shelsley on Saturday. If I see him at Perry Barr tonight I will mention this to him.

Any idea what Douglas will be running then?

Peter even sold the Hawke a couple of years ago!!

Anyway - thanks for asking Richard - I'm building an R1 powered Royale RP29

Douglas, I'm truly glad you pointed out the age of the original thread because I certainly hadn't spotted it. In fact I was trying to think of some banter with BSR before I read your email.

Still, maybe in another 4 years the thread could be resurrected for the debut the R1 Royale
