What class for my car?

Just want to have it clarified which class my car should be in? Impreza 2dr 22b Subaru engine gearbox diff shafts suspension although being coil overs front subframe rear tubular subframe stripped caged firewalled etc but has boot floor removed behind wheel centres now flat Ali sheet. Also carbon heavy as ya like roof fitted it weighs more than a OE steel panel roof lol. Also carbon 1/4 panels.
So mod prod or libre? I have my own thought of where it ends up but want to confirm it. Oh and either no spoiler or big rear areofoil not wider than car within cars profile and below roof height.

Many thanks as new on here but not to sprinting.

For me the only reason I voted Libra, is the non standard roof panel as per 2011 regs, but saying that there are car`s running in modprod with such modifacations, for me modified means just that, so unless the reg`s change then Libra it is.

Looking forward to catching up with in 2012.

John

Yeah my thoughts too. If the only thing keeping me in libre is the roof then I'm tempted to change it for a standard one. And it would be lighter too which defeats the object of carbon roof. What championship do you run in John?

I ran in the Trident Welsh Sprint & Hillclimb Championship this season in the 3C Modified Production class, but the car has also ran in Sports Libra at the Midland & British hillclimb rounds that we entered, but that was down to our choice, it has to be said the classes are a political minefield, with each organising club doing what they see fit on the day.
But then our car is pushing the reg`s to breaking point, but then thats what rules are for, innovation is the key word.

Modified Regulation,

"12.4. The chassis or unitary construction must remain
to the manufacturer’s original specification in
construction and material within the wheel hub centres
"

So your carbon roof and 1/4 panels will force you into Sports Libre.

That's how I read it too! But what if the roof was over a OE steel roof? And the 1/4 were classed as arch extensions?

IF the original steel is still there then you should be OK, if not then it is up to the individual scrutineer on the day. Some might let you run in Modified, some might not.

If the carbon roof weighs more than the original then whats the point.
