It was already with the car and has vortex generators molded into it.

Your roof was discussed on 22B and was sure to move you to Libre. It would be a shame to remove it as your car is a cracker, and I think the Saloon Libre class when it comes about will be a great class with some very fast cars and drivers to chase (and beat!). However, the Mod Prod class is also great (I used to compete in it in my cooking Impreza) and your car should be fine in there with the roof change from the build pictures i can remember. You will find some very strong competition in mod Prod, but be very sure you have a rule-compliant car. Look forward to seeing the car in 2012 on a hill near me! |

So carbon sunroofs are not legal, but carbon roofs are?

I would not be surprised if this was true!
I raced my 911 for years with a canvas sunroof in the steel roof panel (or what was left of it) with not one comment. Probably saved 0.5Kg at the top of the car, which was not why I installed it. I did it to rid the car of the flat glass aftermarket sunroof it had when I bought it. I think this is the only reason to bond a carbon roof to any tin-top, to save weight in a difficult area. |
