Coppa del Chianti Classico 2011

Just back from a great holiday in Tuscany. Surprise , surprise 15 miles down the road from our farmhouse last Sunday was the Coppa del Chianti Classico 2011. Well it would have been rude not to go. Found out that the words elf and safety and silencers don't appear in the Italiian motor spot dictionary. I think this is from practise on Saturday.

Hi josh, yeh we had a great time, stayed in a friends house in San Sano, just north of Sienna. Great food, wine, grappa and motor sport. Got involved with a rally test day as well for an Italiain evo team. Great holiday.

That's great Dad, thanks for the text updates last weekend. Sounds as if you didn't need to do that "passing-off" to get involved...

What was really interesting was that most drivers and pit crews had cake on offer in their pit. It would have been very rude to refuse, and I was surprised that there were not more "offs" especially when one looked at the Italian women working on there recue units and yes, they were eating cake too.

Heres another lovely one, probably my favourite which I hope to do next year. The Coppa di monti iblei at Chiaramonte Gulfi in Sicily is going on at the moment. My dad is there watching for the weekend and just messaged saying that there is a great entry! What a hill!
