I feel the need to be a bit more verbose than Fireblade.

Whats the point? Petitions are an absolute waste of time and energy. They achieve nothing.

Only very occasionally do they appear to work but only those sufficently massive such as a couple recently organised by the grubby circulation oriented jingoistic red top press get noticed. In those cases the politicians were about to make their decisions anyway.

My missing verbosity was down to my lack of belief in the usefulness of these purported Downing St petitions. However it is a case of put up or shut up and I went and duly signed it.
