Cross Border Speed Championship

Press Release 1/12 Immediate Use

Brockbanks Solicitors are again going to sponsor the Cross Border Speed Championship run by Wigton Motor Club.

There are some changes to the events for 2012 with the best six scores counting from the eight events of which half come from each side of the Border. The rounds are also equally split between the hill climbs and the sprints.
As usual there are classes for all types of car from standard road saloons up to single seater racing cars.
As always there is a strong classic car representation with MG, Lotus, Triumph, Mini and Austin Healey amongst the regular contestants.
The series starts in mid April and run to early October. Most of the Scottish rounds are also rounds of the Lowlands Speed Championship and three of the English rounds are counters in the ANWCC Speed Championship.

Wigton Motor Club is also continuing with their Novice Speed Scholarship which helps newcomers to the sport to get started at a reduced cost.

Great chamionship...uncomplicated....not financially ruining to complete and with some classic venues (Harewood, Barbon) as well as some edgy and new places (Forrestburn, High Auldgirth).

The Novice Scholarship helps newcomers get to the first start line with a reduced cost, £100 towards a race suit, free test day, all year guidance and a free entry to the final round. it is open to anyone who has not held an MSA Comp. Licence before.

There is a pre season test day at the Rowrah circuit on March 24th. Details on the website. Entries limited. £40 per car.
