Electric Westfield at Loton
It will be interesting and inspirational to see how the Nick Algar entered Westfield (electric) performs at Loton

I'm also looking forward to seeing it - and failing to take a photo as I don't hear it coming!
(BTW this is at the end of Sept British event, not this weekend's meetings) |

It is the BHC National meeting at the end of September when Nick will be battling the squiggly amps!

Don't think I can make it - anyone planning to film it? Is it the iRacer or another Westfield?

It's the 24/25th and I am looking forward to driving it. It's the iRacer, but don;t expect it to be super quick, it's designed as a Circuit Racecar more than a Sprint Car, and weighs a hefty 700 Kg
Full power from zero should be interesting. I am trying to sort out some stickier tyres, currently on Toyo 888's but the harder race version. The wheel covers mean it has to run a 195/55R15 tyre. Anyone who has anything they would be prepared to lend would be much appreciated

Great stuff! It's heavy, but there's a reasonable amount of power. I saw it at the Autosport show but when pressed, the guys there knew nothing other than "it's black and yellow" and there's nothing about it on the Westfield website. I'd be interested to hear anything about it that's beyond what my wife could tell me at a glance! I guess the motor's hooked straight up to the propshaft and there's a hefty dose of lithium in there to keep it going for a whole race. Of course, you don't need much lithium to get up Loton a few times during the day...
Those wheel covers are intriguing. I cut the rear of my wheel arches out last week to relieve high pressure in the wheel arches and help with drag/lift reduction. |

It's been split into 48 volt cell's so individual cells cannot give a life threatening shock. Also has an earth leakage unit, so if it detects a short it cut's all power, hopefully not halfway up the hill
I will get you some more info before the event and will pass on to the C of C on the Saturday for you so he can pass to you all. I hope not to need your "rescue services" but it's good to know I will be well looked after if I do ![]()

the 64fts could be interesting as unlike infernal combustion engines, 'leccy motors produce maximum torque from zero rpm.
be good to see it run and good luck
