Looking very smart Graham, it will be interesting to see it out on the track next year

Spotted an error with the wiring of the intermittent wiper relay, so I've rewired the box, and it all tests out OK now.

Schematic can be downloaded here.

Making the most of the fact that my new contract hasn't come through yet, by spending all day in the garage.

Nearly there.

Now I need to crimp all the wires on the 12/19 connector for the control box, and then crimp all the pins for the DTA S80 (40 or so) remembering to add Nomex sleeving and heatshrink prior to inserting the pins in to the connectors 8-)

I tried the Dash3 on the DL1 today, and am disappointed with the end result. Anyone else using one? I was going to interface the DL1 with the DTA S80, and use the Dash3 to display temps etc, but now I'm having 2nd thoughts.

I may now stick entirely with Stack analogue (stepper motor) instruments, as at least they'll function from the word go, whereas the DL1/Dash3 takes a while before anything appears on the display.

Got my Innovate LC-1, and speaking to the Innovate peeps at the NEC yesterday, sounds like its going to prove very useful on the S80.

Spoke to AlanW and the team on the DTA stand, and saw the lovely new display. Bit too pricey for my wallet though. (~£750) and being so small, I doubt my eyesight would be able to cope anyway.

Spotted the Plays Kool stand, but no sign of Nick. Probably struggling for grip trying to park the Gould in the car park.

Wired in the dashboard connector. Used another ITT Cannon Neptune connector, 19way this time.

Now I just need to build the dashboard.

And Mike Quaife says that they should have a sequential box for me in a month... so watch this space...

And finally, I'm going for the 220BHP kit from Cosworth, which should prove adequate whilst I learn the characterstics of the new car.

Mocked up the dashboard (blue peter stylee) using carboard and masking tape, and its next going to be constructed from carbon.

Finished off the wiring for the rear lights, brake lights and fuel pump last night, all wrapped in green Nomex and sealed with adhesive heatshrink.

Just need to wire up the ends of the shielded twisted pair cabling in the boot, with ip67 connectors, to allow the rear wheel hall effect sensors to be connected up.

Looking at improving the aerodynamics, so any advise welcomed.

The German hillclimbers, known as the Berg Cup, use quite basic but effective package, of running boards, rear diffuser, and front spoiler. Anyone any experience of building such devices, please get in touch.

Shot of the interior last night

I'll be adding further sleeving and heatshrink this evening, and starting to connect everything up.

Graham

Looks excellent, and a credit to you , you may wish to rethink the position of the gear lever though
