You'd expect the manufacturers would know, but this is HiSpec we're talking about

The grease is buried somewhere in the workshop. I'll let you know when I've found it.

The A43 was so slow when I left, that when I eventaully arrived in Towcester, I opted for the A5 to Crick, and sat on 50+ most of the way.

Untill I caught up with an artic doing 40

Changed the oil sensor plate last night. I bought a puka Mocal one, which is almost identical to the Ebay 'copy' I bought, but the Mocal oil seal appears to fit with less squidge when its tightened up.

Couple more jobs and she's ready for Fridays trip for the rollers at Northampton Motorsport.

Have ordered a set of green IW031 injectors for Friday. The engines running blue IW030s at the moment, which are only rated at 165BHP at 3Bar, so the 031's are capable of supplying more fuel (330cc/min at 3bar = ~ 250BHP), which means we may be able to get the ECU running in sequential mode instead of batch. Sequential means that the injectors only fire once per inlet stroke, whereas batch mode fires them twice, on the exhaust and inlet strokes, effectively delivering twice the fuel that they deliver if configured sequentially. Therefore the injectors must be able to pass more fuel when running in sequential.

I'll see if we can do power runs for both configurations, to determine if there's any real benefit over batch.

I'll be on the Fast Ford stand at Trax on September 5th, and there's a magazine article in the offing. Just trying to sort out a suitable venue. Any ideas? Curborough maybe?

In this months Classic Ford 'Fiesta' special, there's a shot of mine taken at Santa Pod I believe in June, with a small write up.

Looking at the times that SimonB is posting in his 4.2 Quattro TT I'm going to have my work cut out next year, but my smaller lighter car with a good power to weight ratio may be able to give him a run for his money. I can always dream anyway.

Is the Cadwell event running in October, as I may do the one event before the end of the year is out.
