First Round Tomorrow
Good luck to everyone at GWS tomorrow. We won't be out due to a headgasket failure yesterday. Should be a good dry event though!

Excellent day but what a catalogue of problems that the organisers had to face. Well done to Bristol MC for persevering and getting through the day.
Special thanks to the track and paddock marshals. The former were stuck out on a cold windy airfield for most of the day and the latter had to contend with a disrupted paddock which in places resembled a building site! Roll on Silverstone!

From what I heard, there was a problem with a cable breaking comms between the tower and the start line. Given how the former tells the latter when it's safe to let a car onto the track, it wasn't safe to start until that was resolved. Just before lunch, a roadgoing car snagged another timing cable causing an early lunch, which then clashed with lunch for the medical training course that was happening in the Strawford Centre. The marshals had to wait for their lunch and the whole meeting was delayed as a result. We also had to go under the Avon Bridge to get into the pit lane as there was building work going on at the normal entrance. Fortunately, nothing to do with people going off - it was an incident-free day from what I can gather.
Thanks again to all those who worked to get the meeting running again and for the marshals who stood out on the track from first thing in the morning to sunset as the last cars took to the track. |

It's fair to say it was a stressful and problem filled day right from the start, only really settled down once we were into timed runs after lunch and we pushed things along as much as possible so we could get a run-off in before the circuit curfew.
Yep, no-one hit anything apart from the lightweight marker posts on the chicanes so the only times we sent the rescue unit out were to tow back broken down cars.

Results are on britishsprint.org with a review of the event too. As for resultsman, it only seems to have the slowest run in the afternoon for Class D1, rather than the fastest (141 for me and 160 for Tom).
