Great stuff! Clearly, I'm pretty consistent but the tyres don't get enough temperature until the second flying lap. At least, that's what you might deduce from the times. In reality, I'm completely wayward!

Far from it! Compared to some (Mark Smith to name but one!) you were smoothness personified!

The tenner's in the post, Steve! When you see Kilvy's photo of me through camp in practice, you may revise your opinion...

It corners on rails when you're not on the limit! I finally got a handle on Camp in the afternoon - every other lap I've ever done, I have exited Camp and thought "bugger - should've gone in quicker" but in the afternoon, the rumble strip was fast approaching. I just need confidence in the brakes now. It stops a whole load quicker than a saloon and I need to understand that I don't have to brake 150 metres before the corner, despite doing going faster through Hammerdown than I've been up Avon Rise before. The car should be well into the 130s with the right seat to wheel interface!

Stewart Robb Sr was incredibly quick and at the speed he went past the starting grid the car was pulling all of the winters dirt out of the track surface so he trailed a plume of dust and grit that you could feel at the pit wall. Nothing tidy there, he was on the absolute limit.
