Fuel cut-off: impact sensor

I cannot find a simple fuel pump electrical feed cut off sensor that will kill the pump if the car crashes(!)
modern injection systems are fitted with one, anyone now of one for 'us' at all??
Graham.

In the past I have had them on Vauxhalls and Jaguars to my knowledge, maybe you could adapt something like that.....

A quick search on ebay for Ford Fuel Cut off will sort you out with no end of them. They are type normally used on kit-cars. Hope that helps

If all else fails, Westfield Sportscars have them in stock for £28 or so. These are the units I've fitted to Westfields (funnily enough), with good results. They haven't fired 'off' with the car undergoing normal circuit behaviour.
It took a leap over the mountain (Cadwell), with a side slip right into the barrier, nealtly removing two corners and my collar bone, to give it a reason to cut the fuel.

Try to avoid that Red I chucked my'n away on my Westfield PDQ in case it turned the fuel off due to high cornering forces

Thanks to all.
There are a few in ebay, but I was after one you had already 'tested' for me!
I'll check the Westfield shop first.

I used one from a rover 25 from the scrappy, 2 pins iirc and works from a impact in any direction - cant remember if it was under the bonnet or under the dash though. Just push the top to reset

You could try the one from a Clio Sport 172. Simple two wire with large red button on the top to reset. Found out how well it worked on a road rally one night, hit a big rock with the sump guard, and lost all power! Moved it to the side of the drivers seat subframe then, so instant reset available!

They used to be mandatory for clubmans, but everyone got fed up of them cutting the engine if you hit a kerb too hard, so now we run without them...
