Fuel Tank Size??
Hi All,
Currently looking to compete in the junior sprint rounds with my red top powered Westfield but not too sure how big my fuel tank is going to need to be? Its currently about 4 liters but doesn't last more then 2 runs of 32seconds on our hillclimb!! |

Less fuel = less weight, just keep topping it up

Correct but it's no good if i can't reach the finish line! I was just trying to see if anyone has any idea as castle combe is alot longer then i drive here and i don't want to put in a huge tank if i don't need it.

It's 3.3 miles at Combe for the Great Western Sprint but remember that you get one practice run of 2.75 laps, so that's over 5 miles. How long is your hillclimb? Divide one into the other as a finger in the air, I guess.

I reckoned that my single seater was doing 10 mpg and the tank that was fitted at the time held exactly 5 lts. It was taller than it was wide so never had a problem with swill and never ran out of fuel.
