.George was the archetypical club racer-always keen to perform at his best , but never forgot it is motor SPORT.I had the pleasure of Knowing him for over 50 years- his will to win never waned and his love of the sport never left him whether he was doing autotests, rallying or speed events.Over the last 2 or 3 years he masterly juggled his chemo so he was at his peak to do the dozen or so events he liked most-with some of his best results in his much favoured red Westie. Indeed at the Sept 2009 Aintree sprint he achieved his PB - knowing full well it could be his last event. He and I stood in the paddock wondering ''how ? '' {as I had just the same in my 205} - we both decided we were having ''a good day ''
His wife Sheila and all his family were always aware of the support he received from his fellow racers and the bravery he showed during his last few weeks was not a surprise to those of us that knew him
Sprinting will not be the same without him
