German Grand Prix

As a parent I found it difficult to explain the concept of 'It's not fair' to my young children.

Ferrari have disgraced themselves, a £100k fine that is really a joke. Grow up cry baby Alonso !

With the money involved in F1 and what is commercially at stake it is inevitable that this will happen. Teams will always favour one driver over the other if one is better placed in the championship. It is just a matter is how well the team conceals their cheating.

I am with David Coultard on this one; every team will cheat when it gets late in the season and there are reputations at stake. I realise why the rule is there, to keep it sporting and good for the fans, but it just ain't going to happen.

This needs rethinking. Its a great shame, but I think that the ruling will need to change. I wish it wasn't so but F1 is not a sport, its a money making industry and entertainment machine.

...but I do think that Ferrari's actions are disgusting and insult the intelligence of the fans and the official body. I think that the fine should have been much higher because of the blatancy of their actions and the ridiculous denials. Basically the message goes out that you can afford to cheat for less than £2m a year.

I have decided to never buy a Ferrari road car and will stick to my Astra diesel as a protest.

Is that because the Astra costs less overall to run?...

Eddie Jordan got it right, not Brundle or Coulthard. Another disgrace and shambles of a race manipulated by Ferrari. I think every fan in the world could understand and accept it if this was the Brazilian GP with the championship on the line but it's not.

The pathetic denials and lies told by the Ferrari team members is an insult to the intelligence of us mugs who thought we were watching the best drivers in the world racing the best cars.

Out of interest, do the bookies pay out when this happens or do they deem the race as being fixed?

I must agree with Duggy,I think the Ferrari team and drivers should be made to see the error of their ways otherwise when will this blatant cheating ever stop.We all pay one way or another to see the best drivers and teams in the world perform to their best ability and too see it all turned into a sham for one mans vanity (Alonso) is disgraceful.Perhaps the rule for team orders needs to be revised in some way to get over this problem before they turn F1 into a sport totally controlled by backroom morons.

Yes totally agreed. Too early in the season for these sort of Shenanigans. I hope that Alonso fails to score points in the next rounds and Massa catches him up, to repay Ferrari for their cheating.

Very interesting question. Its a fraud case any other sport.

Sadly this sort of thing will not cease. It will just become better acted and less obvious.

The mistake everyone is making is by thinking it is a sport. Is it bollox, it's big business.
Frankly I loathe sport and the sooner they stop calling it motor sport and call it something else the better.
