Ferrari can say what they like but in public perception will see this as unfair and unsporting, but that is to be expected when the combination of big business and weak management bows to an EMPLOYEE when he throws his dummy out of the pram and has a tantrum when he can't get his own way. The net gain to the company would have been a 1-2 either way so favouritism should not have needed to come ito the equation. .

I know I certainly wouldn't like to be unable speak to my driver during a race (I speak from experience here btw).
The ability to speak to the driver during the race is relatively new. Seeing as Neubaurer, Chapman and Williams managed for so long without this method I don't see why banning it would be a retrograde step. You still have the Pit Boards and I feel certain telling a driver that the car behind is gaining on him would be only too obvious to him anyway!

If they banned radio they will just make code words to put on the pit boards to do the same job, its a digrace that Ferrari did it and Alonso really needs to grow up, as for the Ferrari team Principle to be straight on the phone to the Ferrari President to see if he did the right thing what a numpty.

I still feel ferrari's mistake here is clumsiness. To single them out is either naive or prejudiced i feel (ferrari have become a marmite team since TGF).
Other teams convey orders in a harder to decipher code, ("use fuel map G8") or simply turn a driver's engine down. This is where the hypocrisy lies.
But, I agree.....they did break a rule and should/will be penalised for the sake of FIAs face. Then the rule will be scrapped as unworkable.
