Getting back into competition
Hi All
I’m a potentially returning hill climber and looking to find out if one of my cars may be eligible without too much work I used to do a bit of competing in the late eighties in a Mini, venues like Cricket St Thomas, Wiscombe, also a few with a Sylva Star. I’ve owned a GTM coupe for quite a few years and thought that might be a way back in to the sport. I’m planning to go Wiscombe soon to have a chat with the scrutineers, but would like a bit of advice The car has Willans harnesses, A 11/2”dia steel cage, battery cut off etc, its road legal. Do I need a MSA log book and do I need the cage to comply with any regs if I'm running in a road legal class?, it has the safety devices style clamps on all the various joints so it’s not like one of the old “Aley bars” type. Many thanks Paul Irvine ![]() Wiscombe 1987 ![]() GTM coupe ![]() Goodwood 1989 |

Come to Wiscombe next week-end and bring your car, if it's going.
They're probably the same scrutineers, only 20 years older! ![]() Cheers! ![]() Jonathan |
