Small block
Boy will you need to get your traction control sorted out with all that torque in a light car, Iv'e got a 720 hp Chevy s/b in my Ultima and it breaks traction as soon as it gets up to 5k rpm no matter what gear your in ! fantastic sheer grunt though and in a straight line wow.

GR37 sbc
i have fitted a mega light weight rotating Assembly about 30 pound lighter than std, so going for mega quick hp , i built up a 383 for an ultima over well rapid.

Is the drive to the oil pump a common design? I don't recall seeing gear change joints being used in a mini prop shaft, but hey, why not.

Looks interesting. Is this Jon Waggit's old GR37?

Looks very neat, but not something I would consider, particularly as there looks to be more than enough room at the front of the engine.....

It is: GR37-04-D was originally Rob Turnbull's car, new for 1997 in low-nose spec with 3.5 DFR, converted to high-nose then to Malcolm Wishart in 2003. Then to John Waggitt in 2006 and fitted with high airbox for the 2007 season. John had it up for sale at the end of the 2007 season but I don't remember seeing it since.
As far as I can find its best results in Rob's hands were a pair of second places at Bouley Bay July 1998 and Shelseley August 1999. |
