Guernsey 30th May

Yesterday's hill at the Val de Terres was cold and damp most of the day but the most amazing times were achieved...... How does that work????!!!!

I just wanted to congratulate Tim Torode on doing a sub 30 in his Mallock yesterday at the Guernsey Le Val de Terres hillclimb. He was so close to it last meeting but this time did it well and truly clocking an amazing time of 29.87!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stunning.

Also huge congrats to my buddy Paul Priaulx (sootyparrot!!) in the racing cars 601-1100 class. At the Easter meeting Paul (in his Force) reclaimed his record from Dave Uren which was 31.33 and he did a 30.93, but yesterday him and James Shorto (who has Dave Uren's ex OMS PR) did 30.52 and 30.62 respectively. Man am I glad I'm not racing this year to have to compete against them!!!!

Tim Tulie also clocked an unbelievable time of 31.77 in his westy!!!

Looks like at the British Champ round in July there will be huge competition for the UK drivers to even qualify!!!!

There's life in the old PRs yet!!!
Amazing that a 10yearold+ design can still hack it against contemporary machinery.

Richard (very biased 'cos I own one)

Could'nt agree more Jax, I'm glad I was at the top to witness it!!

Timbo just keeps pushing the boundries of unlikely race cars further and further.
Oh to win the National Lottery and bung him in a Gould.

Don't forget that Ed Hollier made an old Terrapin fly by sticking in a Kawasaki ZZR & putting it on new rubber! BTW that car was at Harewood last month still 'mixing it' with the newer machinery!

Yes and coincidentally one of those "newer machines" was my PR!!
Incidentally that Terrapin is as gorgeous renovation. Ed certainly knows a bit about race car restoration. New owner Chris Taylor is justifiably proud of the car.
