Please note it must be cooked in real batter and beef dripping not this oil tat.
When the fishing industry was at its peak and Hull had almost 300 deep sea trawlers i.e fishing in the White Sea, Iceland and Newfoundland, haddock was regarded as the only fish to eat and still is 'up north'. Cod was sent either to the Midlands, London or the fish meal works to made into fertiliser.
