Highland Speed Championship
Good News, the HSC is up and running again for 2009.
Provisional regs are available now on http://www.prhighlandspeedchampionship.co.uk/ If you don't fancy putting your driving to the test, Marshals are always required and is the best way of getting close to the action.

Interesting line in the regs regarding road going cars, something like "road going cars of any age must hold an MOT certificate to the current test requirements". Does this mean that early models, that are not required as specified by VOSA/DVLA to be tested to the current regs ie some classics, are excluded from competing ???

Surely if a car, because of it's age, is officially exempt from sections of the modern test then that exemption forms part of the "current test requirements" so it's in compliance and everyone's still happy ??

That is not how the MSA would interpret it (see rules on fitting cats to road cars), however, it is certainly the way that the HSC would apply it

Good to hear from you Rad --long time no see
"young" --- I like that, what a nice man you are (especially as I was probably breaking the speed limit on my Triumph while you were having your a*se slapped by the midwife )I can live with naive --- playing dumb has got me out of a lot of scrapes over the years ![]() Will you be travelling north often enough to attempt a third triumphal season this year? I'll be signing up for the HSC again of course. K |

Pedantic mode: it would have say " the then current MOT requirements".

If you count MSA competition years then you are a young whipper-snapper compared to me, calendar years is another thing of course ![]() At the moment I am thinking that it is time that I circummed to geographical (and financial) reality and stopped doing the Scottish championships. I will of course come up to the two best venues in Britain, Golspie and Fintray for one weekend each (if I can get an entry) and defend my records. I would like to do Boyndie but both weekends clash with Shelsley and I currently intend to brave the selection committee to have a go there this year. Anyway, perhaps it is time I gave someone else a chance to win the championship
