Our 2001 Boxster is an electronic throttle. Even the 2.5 was as far as I know.

Those of us old enough will remember Barry Sheene taking part in a race at Daytona and suffering a massive rear tyre deflation at 200mph, on the very fast banked section. It was discovered that he had a valve cap missing and that was what caused it. On a more recent occasion I was told of another Northern scrutt who warned a driver that he must have his very long hair cut before he appeared again at the venue. It was in fact outside his helmet and an engine fire could well have given the ultimate in short back and sides. So safety conscious these Northerners.
