This was my first idea, buy just enough bits to convert to RWD. But the problem with that is the rear drivetrain isn't built to withstand 100% of the engine's torque. Also it wouldn't give me the flexibility and choice of gearboxes, rear engine would enable me to use a fiat coupe box with LSD or longitudinal would give me a wide choice of boxes like Ford type 9 etc plus the flexibility of rear diffs.

Hmmm the S4 was actually a Delta "Lancia Delta S4 Stradale", i wonder if that could be of any advantage to me. The scrutes said i'd be fine to go up to 2.0 because the integrale was also a Delta, not sure if this rule counts with engine position though. The other issue is that they only produced 200 S4's for the road.

My 1.6 HF Turbo is only FWD so there's no 4WD setup in place, going 2.0 would just put me up a class and give me more wheel spin!
