Later Model Parts

I'm here again, wish i could understand the Blue book better. Roadgoing series production related query.

2 questions sorry

Is it permissible to fit a 'factory optional part' from a later same make & model car?

The part in question is a Roof spoiler. A roof spoiler is fitted as stock but this is an add on part........i have checked 11.4.1 and 11.4.5 of the blue book with regards 'silhouette'

would a different curve on a spoiler affect this?

Regards

Ian

An example is with the Renault 5GT Turbo. Later models were fitted with different suspension pick-up points but it is not allowed to fit the later version to the earlier model.

Given this then it all comes down to one question: is the "later same make & model" actually the same? i.e. is the nomenclature of the model the same.

I suspect that you could fit any "factory optional part" to a car so long as the optional part was designed to fit the car you now have. However if you wanted to fit a mark two spoiler to a mark one car then that would be frowned upon.

Thanks for the reply Steve, the spoiler in question was available for the Homologated Rally Car of the same year and was designed to fit the model i have. I can't find an original 'optional extra's' catalogue to confirm this hense why i asked about the later models as these are currently listed as genuine factory options :/
