Loton Park Drivers' School

The first school was held yesterday and was a real success. Weather varied, some heavy downpours but mostly dry, so students got to try the track in all conditions.

Instructors were Dave Parr, Tim Cross, Dave Wilson, and Roger Moran.

I spoke to many of the students afterwards and all said they'd had a cracking day and learnt a lot.

Here's to the next one in three weeks - details on HDLCC website.

Great day. Went up the hill with Roger in his 4x4 - what a trip! 8 runs in all I think. A bit of rain in the morning probably helped to keep the red mist under control until it dried up in the afternoon. Some first rate snap at lunch time (including a fine selection of cake) added considerably to downforce for the afternoon session. Just one thing - can we have the blue cones back for the weekend...?

Thanks to all the instructors, marshalls and support crew.

Doh.... Clive - the penny has just dropped, I think I was sitting alongside you during the final debriefing!

As you say, it was a great day and really useful to have the opportunity for so many runs up the hill is a short space of time. I can almost remember bits of it now.

Lunch and afternoon tea/cakes, whilst something of a highlight, will have done nothing for my weight loss campaign. My thanks too to all those involved in organising and running the day, I hope it was viewed as a successful exercise by the club as I am sure it was by those that participated.

Peter

Yep - you were next to me in the final debrief Peter. BTW, well done on the award for best driving of the day - great stuff. Now we have to do it for real tomorrow...
