Personally I think they deserve the money. We're ever so grateful to race away where we don't have to marshal.

This year in Guernsey compulsory marshalling is being introduced. We HAVE TO marshall whilst we race. So it means that if you share drive you may not be there to help your pal and if you have a problem you are screwed. We wished we had more keen marshalls over here so count yourselves lucky that it is their hobby too !!!!

PS A certain person bought me an icecream in September - very yummy - highly recommended to all marshalls as a treat for their hard work!

Same problem up ere, most of the time we never have the marshals we need for an event, so the drivers and there friends end up helping out.

Loton is my favourite hill - mostly since I end up there more than anywhere else (thanks to TF's schedule) and it normally has a good atmosphere on the Friday and Saturday nights. Hint: head towards Marshal's camping above triangle.

Considering two years ago there were some club events with low numbers and that seemed to improve a lot last year it is great to hear they are still trying to make it even more appealing to marshals. I might even get round to doing a day this year.

Quite agree Jon, none of us does it for the money. It's good to know we're appreciated though, and that's the message which always comes across at Loton Park.
