Lydden Lines

Had a great couple of days at the bijou venue in Kent. Set in a bowl in the hills Lydden has some really incredible corners packed into its single mile.
Intermittent rain that varied from light showers to monsoon conditions plagued Saturday however the Top 12 was run in near perfect conditions. There was just the odd spot of rain on Sunday and again the Top 12 Run-off was held in ideal conditons. As soon as the official results reach me I will update this thread with the details - I had a tight deadline and over 300 miles to travel home (including a run round the M25 from its junction with the M26 passing Heathrow and then onto the M40) so I left before the third and final timed runs on Sunday were completed.
Over the week-end I bumped into one of our occasional contributors (the Earl of Eastwyke) and we had an interesting chat about "Our Correspondent". If only I could repeat what he said!!!

I suppose Eastwyke was easy to identify. He's usually rummaging through a skip

I am now seriously worried now that he has met another forum member - Eastwyke knows far too much about me, where all the bodies are buried. Just a figure of speech.

Not on this occasion but he looked like he had gathered his ensemble from a skip!

Steve I would have thought you would have passed comment on how close the Top 12 was on Sunday after the previous quotes about how BSC isn't as commpetitive as the BHC - what a battle betwwen Stewart and Nick a credit to both of them.

Thank you.

On behalf of the LIMC, I would like to thank all of those who came to Lydden Hill to the sprint, be it as a competitior or a specator.
We are STILL on a steep learning curve regarding sprinting, but with input from people such as your selves we hope to improve the event and firmly establish it on the calender.

Regards
kevin Creaven.

What a great weekend. Very mixed weather giving many people the difficult choice of wets or slicks on the Saturday, it did evntually dry out sufficiently for a full dry run at the end of the day. Sunday conditions were much better and again the sun came out towards the end of the day improving the track a little. Huge thanks to all the marshalls, time keepers, starters and of course the organisers for another enjoyable weekend. I myself produced a PB and to my complete suprise gifted me with my first F T D in the National B in only my second event with the car, a great combination of chassis and engine.

steveoms - results you have up are just saturday. i think we were all abit quicker sunday due to the bone dry track and rubber from day before. very close at the top, but also tight for 3rd-5th

what was with the prizes? one set for both days? how did that get worked out? i know there were a few annoyed people! nice big shiney trophies tho

brilliant weekend. 3rd on both days new class record too woo hoo! turbo'd bike engines all the way! if only the thing handled like a race car instead of a drifter! lol. or is that just the way i drive it!?!?
has anyone got any footage of me (number 61, baby blue jedi) from saturday? i'd love to see it as i've never seen myself drive from the outside and i was still in drift mode

Tom - watching you through addock bend was heart in mouth time each lap. 4 wheel drifting at 100+ mph = awsome car control. I wished I had footage to show you
