Mallory Park

I'm competing in Saturdays sprint at Mallory, does anyone know what part of the circuit will be used. The regs state that the length of the course is 0.75 miles.

Martin

The regs booklet shows a start near the circuit startline and finishing at the elbow taking in all three of the motorcycle chicanes.

As blue has mentioned, I reckon but don't quote me, that you will start at pit lane exit and after nearly a full lap, (taking in all three chicanes) you will finish around Devils elbow and come straight into the pit lane entrance.
This does seem to me to be more than .75 miles though?

The whole lap without with all the chicanes is 1.41 miles.

Think we could do with one of those strange Flatlanders who have been there for a sprint to comment.

They're probably still drying their gear out from their last outing to a wet, windy and God forsaken airfield somewhere north of Hebden Bridge.

The distance per run is 0.75 miles. There is some talk of them using "3 chicanes". I suspect that the start will be out of the pit-lane, then through Charlie's & Stapleton's chicane exiting Gerards, down Stebbe Straight and then through Edwina's. I suspect that the finish will have to be just after Edwina's with the return into the Paddock via the old Club Circuit loop.

This isn't the course used at the BSC events so i am only speculating.

At least at some of the "God forsaken airfield" venues we have proper garages not those rather rubbish wooden structures that you see at one particular hillclimb course.

Oh and Ingliston is north of Hebden Bridge & it didn't rain!

At Harewood we use the atmosphere to stop space debris and harmful rays hitting our cars and spoiling the paintwork.

Then Harewood built gravel traps to compensate.....

Of course they do get the use of the wooden structures for the whole weekend as compensation

Well whatever structures you have it they certainly weren't put up with sprinters in mind. I was really alluding to the airfield sprint tracks but if you want to include the circuits, which you certainly seem to, then so be it.

I mentioned the Sprint championship to someone the other day and had to laugh at his answer. 'Oh, is that still running?' was his reply.

State of the art recyclable buildings at Shelsley Walsh

At least the wooden structures alluded to are fully recyclable, being constructed natural materials.

Apply for an entry and see them first hand soon.

As most of the race circuits were airfields I assumed that was what you were referring to!
