most i know run triple DCNFs on hot essexs, although one of my mates, Paul Turnbull, ran a holley on his succesful Scimitar GTE circuit racer. Will PM you his email address tomorrow (on work pc not on my laptop). Paul may be at Anglesey with his new build TVR Tuscan too, will let him know you may contact him. I do remember him buying his Holley from USA and it was pretty cheap, esp as a set of triples and manifold is near £2k new!

Yes the £2k cost is why I am using a Holley at £200 BUT if anyone out there has some used 40 or 42 DCNF let me know.
One of my mates with a Gilbern Genie has made his own V6 manifold with 2 x DGAS fitted and has 1st outing with me at MIRA this weekend. Interesting to see how it performs. |

dropped Paul an email, see reply below:-
I ran an Edelbrock/Weber 500 not a Holley, the V6 usually uses a 390 4 barrel holley which has a vacuum secondary as opposed to the much better mechanical system on the Edelbrock. TBH it was an experiment and having done it I'd forget the 4 barrels and go for a 40DFi or even a heavily worked 38 Dgas as Dannys Tivs are seeing knocking on for 270hp with these. DCNF, sound great and look great but unless you're going for a serious amount of power I think they're a waste of money when all you get is a bit of torque and a fair amount of hassle,£1500+ would gain more lap time in other areas. got my wires crossed, wasnt a Holley after all ![]() hope that helps anyway, PM me if you want his contact details CNH |

Yes - really enjoyed the day and what a great car to drive at speed, but since engine has only 300 miles on it I set a 5000 rpm limit
The Holley is definately coming off, hopefully before Olivers Mount on 22nd Aug. |

Finally resolved the problem with the Holley, it was a vacuum leak on the manifold gasket. So take back all I said about Holley's, the engine now running very well. Couldnt resist adding this photo since it makes the 1000 hour restoration worthwhile. Picture taken by Alan Horner Photography at Olivers Mount 12 Aug.

Thyis car was a real schoolboy dream of a car, and i had a catalogue from Marcos in the 1966's or so.
Nice car and even better to see it 'exercised' Great thread, v interesting home restoration (best type IMHO) Graham. |
