McLaren

The Patsy Burt McLaren has "gone to a good home" for £78000. Might we see it in action again ???

If Ron Dennis, who was rumoured to be interested, bought it then I doubt it!

About 4 weeks ago I saw the car at the Grand Prix Collection at Donington Park. Is that where it's gone or was it just visiting?

Sold by the family, it was only on display. Very sad if it has gone away.

Brian,

the car has been in the museum for years, but only on loan of course. It is the oldest Mclaren extant and it was suggested last time it went up for sale that Ron Dennis was after it, but obviously not true. It was taken from the Donington Collection to Shelsley Walsh for the MAC centenary. Miss Burt was to drive it but was not well enough.

It was driven by Lynne Owen in the Hillclimb 60th demonstration at last years October Shelsley, and was definitely the car/driver that gained the most attention leading to mystified comments from past Champions who really should get out more in their old age.

I hope that isn't the last time it is seen at a UK Hill.

Thanks for all the helpful information. I'm glad I went to Donington whem I did. I've been thinking of going for 15 years!
I hope it's not the last we all see of the car. For me it was one of the more interesting cars in Mclaren Hall. A pity the cars are all roped off I would have liked to have got down on my knees for a closer look at them.

Brian
