and whilst trying to beat ones personal best time in whatever class your car has been placed one may win the odd trophy/gain a few points......if that matters

Unfortunately it appears to matter to a lot of people! Pity as competition for its own sake is the cornerstone of Speed Events.

Hmm

I think i'll buck the trend here and say that i'm not that convinced about that calender to be honest - though fully appreciate the huge amounts of work that must have gone into it - too many date clashes within it and I just don't think they should exist at all.
Plus No Pembrey... what's gone wrong there out of interest?

Re classes and the discussion about 'uncompetitive car and moaning' how about the exact opposite?
You start at the bottom and steadily develop a competitive car but then find you've got nowhere to compete with it if you want to move 'up' the championships & heaven forbid do a 'National A' event, got that T shirt..

But i'll not moan (nobody listens anyway!), i'll just swap to a single seater so I can go anywhere and be in amongst my peers, as oddly they're the same class splits everywhere.

Some rule clarity, that's the same everywhere, consistant classes through all the championships at all levels and we might, just might, encourage a few more people to have a dabble?

Jim

Where there are date clashes it was judged that they were in different parts of the country and with the high cost of travelling the committee decided that the clashes wouldn't detract from the other events on that day.
I believe the Pembrey sprint is on the same weekend as Anglesey so that was a clash that didn't get through.

The race circuit management at Pembrey notified BARC (Wales) and the British Sprint organiser that their date would shift by a week. There was then frantic efforts made to move the Anglesey date with Chester MC - unfortunately for whatever reasons this second date hasn't been switched - hence the clash. I am now wondering if the Chester MC event will take place.

Hi Steve

That's a real shame, but I take it from your post that there will be a BSC round at Pembrey?
Think I saw it on the provisional HSA calender but i've been to sleep since then!

It would be a shame to miss the Chester club Anglesey meeting, but fortunatly there are several sprints a season at Trac Mon but the June Pembrey is the only one they do (I think) and it's such an epic track it's on my 'Must go again' list..

Whilst it's not for us to predict what the clubs decide to do it shouldn't be a surprise if Chester MC cancel the June Anglesey given it's no longer a BSC round. It's not been anywhere near full in the past 2 years and with the absence of the BSC competitors it surely cannot be viable.

Pembrey is definitely on the HSA calendar Jim.

As posted above by Tri Longer the Pembrey week-end is not only in the HSA calendar but is in the, as yet, provisional BSC calendar. As Jim states the Pembrey event is the only sprint at the circuit and as such it really cannot be missed. We will be having two rounds of the BSC at Anglesey but not in June. I will post the calendar once it has been moved from provisonal to fixed.
