hey all, pretty new to this forum and pretty new to hillclimbing.

ive got a mk1 cooper S i run in the road car class, its all steel body work
but im thinking of going to a 46IDA downdraft weber and a fiberglass bonnet.

are there any rules that i will be brakeing by having the trumpets stuck through a hole in the bonnet by about 3"?

If it is against the rules, then the rules simply must be wrong. A Mini on an IDA just has to be right!

You are so right Neil. I was going to put IDAs on the Zetec but they were out of my price range. A set on Ebay made £600+ on a cvh manifold....

I don't think it's strictly legal as its altering the silhouette of the car although I have seen them used in the road car class.

yes guys minis with IDA's look the part , lots of torque to be had !

cvh .... they where probubly the lesser IDF's haha

is there somwhere where i can look at the rules ?

i normaly run in my club class and you can get away with pretty much anything! aslong as its under 1400 and road legal!

but what im concerned about is ruining its eligibility for anything else.

Thanks chaps, it looks to be a no by the looks of things unless I have a hole and some really short flares.

It says no silhouette change so arguably that means you can't lower a car !

And if you wanted to split hairs that my works exhaust isn't right.. Tin of worms me thinks.

Looks like it will have to be twin splits now.

Many thanks.

In all honesty, twin splits will probably be a tiny bit more efficient, but not look as cool!
