This is Doug Thomson in the Mk 7 Motus at Harewood in the mid 1970s

I am not 100% sure but I always thought that the various Motus projects were one offs so IF this is the Mark 7 it is the same vehicle.

If my memory serves me correctly this Motus was designed build by Keith Moseley for his son Dud Moseley to drive, Dud was a very good driver who raced in a number of categories including one season in the 1970's when he won 24 races out of 27 entered in Clubmans FF winning two championships.
Keith also designed and built a Sports 2000 car for Dud with wooden bodywork in which he was reasonably successful. In the mid 1990's Keith grandson Stuart drove in Formula Vauxhall with Ray Rowan so the connection between the families is long standing.
Stuart has gone on to drive at Le Mans - so they are a talented family.

Probably - I am just starting to scan in my old 35mm colour negatives starting with 1992.

Often wondered why we dont see more Karts, besides the odd creations I've spotted at Shelsley over the years.

Because the MSA banned them due to pressure from certain fellow class competitors, personally i enjoyed the challenge of trying to beat a kart and thought they were great.

These newer "Shelsley" specials conform to the racing car regs w.r.t. wheelbase and engine placement which Karts unfortunately don't.

I agree with Jo, the Karts added another dimension to our sport.

Wow, the MSA bowed to pressure. Who complained, was it the Duke of Kent?
