On a reasonably related topic . The development plan for the brewery building at the start of Val de Terres in Guernsey is up for discussion now

The verdict on this one could have a impact on the Hillclimb.

With Dudley Council as the local borough????
Don't hold your breath. If they want to do anything with roads then last winters pot holes could be a starter for 10.

Its nice to see the press talking about it but I can't see it being as simple as it sounds for 2 reasons.

1/ "Mr Wallace, who is helping to set up an all-party parliamentary group, told the Motor Sports Association meeting it was a simple clause to change that would have no cost implications."

Translated means it's going to cost a fortune in,shall we say encouraging local councillors to let it happen. As it did with the Superprix. Allegedly of course.

2/ "the new government was "determined" in its bid to scrap what is effectively a ban on using public highways - but it had been frustrated, so far, in being able to identify which minister had responsibility for it."

How hard can it be to just nominate someone to take responsibility?

Now you have hit on the really BIG problem with politics - getting someone to accept responsibility!

Motorsport isn't "on-message" though is it? All those nasty carbons released and stuff.

The Formula One GP cars in one year pollute the planet less than one jumbo-jet flying from London to New York and back again. I don't think that Motorsport needs to apologise.

How much carbon do the planes used to transport 24 cars and several thousand personnel around the world use? I'll stop playing devil's advocate! My problem with it is that the local council will be just as reluctant to close roads for motorsport as they are to let us use their lovely parks that have such under-utilised tarmac.

....As long as we ignore the quantity of tyres that they use for an hour (or less) and then discard.
