New build

Hi guys

Despite being around the motorsport scene and the mini scene for sometime i'm new on here so please be kind. I've been reading the posts with interest and have been sprinting and hillclimbing for the last 3 years. At the end of the last season i managed to kill my mini at Elvington when something broke which caused it to roll. I wasnt too bothered as i have a new build ongoing and was intending to remove the engine the following day anyhow.

Just after some advice really, This is the first time i've undertaken such a "from scratch" build and would apprieciate if i could call upon the experience of you guys on here to take a look at my build and let me know if you can spot anything obviously wrong with what i have achieved so far.

My build is here

Cheers all

Great work indeed, construction looks very profesional, but having read all the recent threads about class, have you thought where you will end up. A roll cage with wheels on, mmmmmm.

Superb! Exactly what we need to see more of on UphillRacers. I wish more people would share their builds as they can be fascinating.

That is a thing of beauty: I know it's early days, but are you planning on doing any National rounds with it? (hill climb, not the other one that is).

Thanks for the comments and to answer some of your replies

1) I will be in libre class, which is being heavily discussed at the moment. I'm not bothered though because a few years ago i got a 16v mini championship off the ground from within the 16vminiclub website. We currently have about 8 cars competing and is growing interest every year.

2)400 kg's!!!!, not sure on that one, i'm aiming for 500kg's but may initially over run on that. I'm concentrating on getting it built then when i start the development every part will be examined with a view to make it lighter, stronger, better etc.

3) National rounds, hell yeah. I've shy'ed away from them in the past because my old car was a scrutineers nightmare and i would probably have been turned away from most but once this one is finished i will be entering a few rounds for experience really. My local circuit is either croft of harewood so look out for me there.
