New Champion?

Do I assume correctly that Stewart Robb is the new British Sprint Champion now their season has been cut short?

Season cut short

Sorry missed the news release on that one. Why has the season been cut short and when does it end?

Richard

Stewart Robb Snr is the 2011 SBD Motorsport British Sprint Champion. No one can beat his current Best 9 scores already accumulated from 12 of the 15 rounds.

The final two rounds at Lydden scheduled for August has been cancelled due to the organising Club, London Irish MC, not having landed an event sponsor and in the light of losses made over the last three years.
The final rounds of the Championship will now be at Kames on the 30th and 31st July.

Well done, Stewart.

Has the championship ever finished that early before? It won't even make August. Mind you, I'm done and dusted already - just waiting to be overtaken in the standings over the next few weeks.

I think not. In fact we will have managed 15 rounds (30 in Hillclimb money) by the end of July and this with only one set of three back-to-back week-ends.

It is a great shame that the loss of Lydden follows on from the demise of the Colerne sprint track where we have held British Sprint Championship rounds on August Bank Holiday Monday for many, many years.
