New Libre rules

My new car is a (mini) Sports Racing Car and for 2012 and the new rules say I can have a rear wing (I think) where do I go from here ?
How big - How high - what angle ?
Any input welcome.
Allan

(J) 5.2.7. Aerodynamic devices may only be fitted to Racing and Sports Racing Cars (unless prohibited by an Approved Formula), or where specifically permitted, where FIA homologated, or where complying with National type approval. Such devices may not extend beyond the maximum width of the vehicle, above the maximum height of any roof or extend longitudinally from the bodywork by more than 100mm.

(S) 14.1.1. Vehicles eligible for Sports Libre in accordance with 14.1.(a) or (c) must also comply with the following:
Maximum width:
Measurement between the outer tyre walls of the front
or rear (whichever is the wider) + 20cm
Maximum rear overhang:
150cm behind rear wheel
axis
Maximum height (open cars):
90cm from the ground
Maximum front aerodynamic device height:
Not to exceed the top of the front wheel rim

My interpretation of these regulations for your closed, two seater, two door, Mini shaped, sports racing car in Sports Libre category, the limits for aerodynamic devices would be:

Rear aero:
No higher than highest point of your roof
No wider than the maximum width of the bodywork
No further than 100mm from the rear of the bodywork

Front aero:
No wider than the maximum width of the bodywork
No higher than the top of the front wheel rim
No limit on how far it can stick out in front of the bodywork

Personally I would define rear wing end plates as part of the bodywork to take the maximum 150cm rear projection as the limit for the rear aero.

Alan take a look at the Prodrive cars, that is what you need to construct.

Why not remove the front & rear screens (no law against that as it doen't need to be a special saloon these days) & turn the roof itself into a wing by reshaping its lower surface?

The roofline could also be raised using bodywork "sideplates".
As this is only a Mini "shaped" object then you define the extent of the bodywork.

Why not take a look at the cars which run in the Berg cup in Europe. Should give some indication as to what you can get away with as they appear to run large wings.....

By removing the front screen the car would be defined as an open car and this would limit the maximum height to 90cm.

(J) 5.20.8 requires windscreens fitted to all cars except "Racing Cars"

If Alan defines his car as a "Sports Racing Car" by definition in the Nomenclature and Definitions section:
"Racing Car" - See Single-Seater Racing Car and Sports Racing Car, then he could run without a front screen and use an inverted 'roof'??????
