New MOT paperwork

Seeing as MOT's are no longer issued on the green forms, embossed with the MOT tester's stamp, and are instead just A4 sheets with a laserprinted form, covered in serial numbers etc. how are these forms going to be 'verified' should a competitor turn up with a new form, where an MOT is required.

Both my MOT's on my road cars have just been replaced by the new A4 sheets, as I've transferred a number plate from one car to another, and it struck me how easy it would be for someone to print a form.

Therefore, is the MSA going to equip clubs with the necessary IT access to allow the serial numbers on the forms to be verified?

Well, yes but only so far as if they 'looked' genuine. if printed on the VT20 form.

Shirley its even easier now to print your own.

So long as the scrutes all carry smart phones, with 3G, they can use the following link if an MOT is called in to question.

The new mot is just a receipt really. Check out the validity online. It also gives you the advisories which is useful, but not so good for traders selling cars who are wanting to hide stuff.

A beer mat mounted upside down usually does the trick at a quick glance.

Nothing beats and old Newcastle Brown label.

Also anyone else received a new Red V5c in the post yet?
