OMS register

Does anyone know if there is a register of OMS cars? I guess Steve will know of some, but I'm sure he doesn't have the time or inclination to keep track of cars as they change hands.

Richard

I'm not aware of one, but happy to provide details - I currently own chassis number 93, which I believe to be one of the last PR's

I think the latest OMS 25s are in the 150-range, so there's your scope. It would be interesting to find the first car and from memory the earliest I can think of is/was Ian Cruickshanks' car. No idea what number it is though.

Good idea Richard. Worth asking Steve if he has / is willing to share a schedule of what he has produced. That would be a good start point. My 2000M is 123 done around 2006 as an upgrade from a PR. C

If the data is available from Steve I would be willing to maintain it either on the OMS site or elsewhere. I have long thought that this information would be invaluable for researchers like myself and owners of OMS cars who want to track its history.

You keep records Steve??

I thought you just had all that information kept in your nugget!!

Did you not have a similiar record on the other forum "that which we do not mention"!

Would the MSA not have a record of cars also based on log books?

I know of 2 OMS single seaters here in Malta.

I could ask the owners, who I also know, for numbers etc.

I had a conversation with Steve at Harewood when he ran the 25 in its first BHC meeting. I was trying to establish how many cars he had built to that date. He said that he has an earlier car than Ian's tucked away at Minskip and that there was another that is now either scrapped or completely derelict. He did not actually say that Ian's was number 3 but that was my conclusion but my major interest was getting information on the 25 for news pieces that appeared in the two weeklies.

Hi Ian

if it's a red R/A chassis with an oil cooled GSXR - then probably

(I didn't retain a note of the chassis no when I sold it to a guy from Hull) - was that you or has it moved on again?

I had the car for 2 seasons and prior to that it was owned by Colin Calder from Thuso.

Good luck in 2011

Alastair
