Dave

If it is the MP50 that is the ex Martyn Griffiths/Dave Harris/Roy Lane/Barrie Dutnall/Dave Abbott/Dave Whitehead car that started life as an MP42 then if you are not interested I would be.

Nick.

Thanks. Not likely to be the one then. Excellent picture of it on Rich's ZiPP site looking very smart.

Is it number 05 - If so thats my old mans car - 2.8 Hart with lots of upgrades, Haggis wings lightened sidepods.

the car won the scottish hillclimb championship 9 times. built in 1981 i believe so eligible for the 1985 classes. I dont think the car has done many miles since heading south to Glenn Del Medico.

happy to provide photos or more info

Hi, I believe it to be ex - Tim Coventry/Tim Mason, other than that I don't know much yet. Would be interested in any views of these cars as never had much to do with single seaters, allways competed in saloons until I got the Westie a couple of years ago.

This car was coverted to take a V8 and when Alistair Crawford bought it he removed the negine/gearbox to slot in a GR37 after one season on the hills with the MP50. Since then it has been unused and unloved.

Steve

Did it ever run as a four cylinder or was it built as a V8 from parts by Martin Middleton? MP50M?

Nick.

I don't think it was ever a 4 cylinder car but as you say built up from a tub and spares by MM.
