That is a very unfair comment Paul. Everybody who has made a comment has been nothing but constructive, positive and helpfull. No one is attacking John and I am sure we all wish him the best of luck with this programme. He needs permission to start from scratch and get the job done in a profesional manner. It's not an old x-flow he is trying to sort out and it is going to take more than x-flow money.

I have to agree RT .... None of my comments were digging at the O P but were designed to give a perspective from someone not involved with the project... Sometimes that helps....

On a possitive note the AS plug to make up the lead arrived in the post today, so at least we will be able to take a look at any data that may still be stored on the ecu/data logger.

It's really good to read about someone else's development - painfull though it may be (at times)!
Having been in the wings watching a chum develop his twin-charging system, I can only say that turbos are a special breed. But not insurmountale! The very brief running time you get at a hillclimb does mean that ironing out the problems appears to take forever but you'll get there in the end. I suppose it depends what you're after - as Dave said earlier, it was a very clever (or should that read brave!) development idea, but lack of time halted development. For me, the idea of a normally aspirated lump like Wallace's makes sense, but to revert to that setup would be a major redesign and probably as much work as getting the twin turbo's sweet. Keep at it! And please do keep telling us the story. Steve |

Rumour
There was a rumour that Willem could have driven the car at Gurston or Loton.
If the car is not available wouldn't it be nice for someone to lend him a top car or get a dual drive with Trevor, Wallace, Will, Lee or a Predator. Fantasy Hill Climb. Best wishes to SPD. Richard |

Better to get the right help with the engine, may seem deer at the time but as i know its a lot less money in the long term. I took my engine to engine developements (judd) and now have a engine that works a treat, shame the gear box doesnt. Wallace went to them aswell and has had no problems with his one.. some people have great intentions but you cant keep wasting time and money with them waiting for them to get it right...

Pilbeam MP88 Cosworth
Having just gone through the rebuild of the turbo Hart of the mid 1980's Pilbeam, when the installation was complete I made arrangements to see Geoff Kershaw of Turbo Technics (who is the leading authority in the UK on turbos), who validated the installation was correct. We are at present sorting out ecu versus turbo gremlins which is only down to testing and will be quite easily rectified.
It would be my advice to contact Geoff who would either validate that the engine will work in a twin or single turbo configuration and I would take his advice very seriously before throwing buckets of money at this project. Barrie |
